Chicago – Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady today said today’s Illinois Chamber of Commerce endorsement, and his endorsement Monday by the National Federation of Independent Businesses demonstrates his commitment to fighting job-killing taxes, and to enacting pro-growth policies that create jobs for families across Illinois.
“As a small business owner, I’m proud to stand with job creators and with families to get Illinois working again,” Brady said. “We’re losing generations to other states because job creators and entrepreneurs don’t feel state government cares about them.”
“Under Pat Quinn, state government changes the rules, hikes taxes and fees, and adds more red tape - all to feed a bloated, big government bureaucracy that’s just not working for the people of Illinois, Brady said”
“It is time for someone to occupy the Governor's office who understands the struggles small businesses go through each day, just to make the next payroll.”
There’s not one area of state government budgeting that cannot be deconstructed and reconstructed to save money, Brady stated.
He has proposed a $2,100 tax credit to businesses for every new job they create. The average job brings in $4,200 in revenue to the state.
“I support reducing the overall cost of doing business in Illinois, including eliminating excessive taxes and fees on business, restructuring an expensive workers compensation system compared to other states, and reforming the state’s medical malpractice and legal liability laws,” Brady said.
He also said he will implement a drill-down audit to re-examine and re-assess state government spending across the board.
Brady (R-Bloomington) is a small business owner who has represented his community as state Senator since 2002. He is running for governor to bring a clean break to Illinois and build a job-growing environment. More information can be found at bradyforilliois.com.
