Brady to Focus on Jobs and Reform in Campaign

Senator Bill Brady, Republican candidate for Governor, Monday said his campaign will focus on building an economic climate that fosters job creation and restoring integrity in Illinois.

“I’m running for Governor to help create jobs for Illinois families, to protect us from higher taxes and out-of-control spending and to stand up for what I think is honest,” Brady said.

“The insider games and closed-door deals are going to end when I’m Governor. My administration will provide a clean break from the policies and the politics of the Blagojevich-Quinn administrations that have led to debt, deficit and disgrace.”

Brady was joined by Jason Plummer, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, on an eight-city tour with stops in Rockford, Moline, Quincy, Cahokia, Marion, Champaign, Peoria and Bloomington.

“I look forward to an honest, issues-oriented campaign with Governor Quinn,” Brady said. “This campaign will be about two visions. Governor Quinn’s vision is a continuation of the insider politics of the past that wants to raise our taxes by 50 percent and spend our money as if nothing has changed.

“On the other hand, there’s my vision for Illinois of clean-break reforms, common sense budgets and no more tax increases so we can build an economy that creates more jobs for Illinois families.”

Brady, 48, of Bloomington, said he and Plummer will wage a vigorous campaign that includes listening to the frustrations and hopes of Illinois citizens in all areas of the state.

“I look forward to listening to the concerns of our citizens and talking with them about real, practical solutions to real problems,” he said.
